Yong-Ming Li: Sponsored by the Sino-British Friendship Scholarship Schemes, I went to England in 1988 for postgraduate study. At The University of Birmingham, I earned a M.Sc. and Ph.D. in engineering with emphasis on geometric modeling. After graduation, I continued a post-doctorial research at the geometric modeling group headed by a well-known expert Prof. Alan Ball. In 1994, my family and I moved to the United States. Since then, I worked at UGS (Solid Edge division), where I was a one-man team to maintain and add new math functions into Solid Edge math library used by a large amount of applications. Besides working on math, I was also involved in adding new commands and functionalities into Solid Edge that included wrapping 2D geometry onto 3D surfaces, direct edit of holes/rounds/bends, surface trimming, parting surfaces for mold tooling, surface by boundary, resize reference planes, XpresRoute for tubing/piping/framing/ wire-harness, curve/surface editing, 2D hatching, auto-balooning, auxiliary and principle drawing views, etc. I now wrok at Intergraph Corporation to provide math supports for Intergraph products. Julia X. Zhang: I received a MS in computer science from Alabama A&M University and BS in E.E.Eng. from Chengdu University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. I used to work at UGS to develop a Windows based CAD system Solid Edge. There, I implemented 3D translators to import/export CAD files in various formats such as Step, Iges, ProE, Acis, Catia; developed Parasolid-Solid Edge translator and UG-Solid Edge XML converter; and introduced heal-n-sew process used in 3D translation as well as other surface commands. Being a developer at Part group, I also worked on Feature Recognizer and added the Feature Library, Key-Point-Curve, Simplify Commands, Split Face, Right-Mouse, and Feature Error Assistant commands into Solid Edge. Currently, I work at Intergraph with emphasis on 2D gometry and the relationship constraint. As a CAD software developer, I have seen the importance of computer graphics and computer aided geometric design. For this reason, my husband and I created this web site to share with you our knowledge and programming skills. I hope that you find the contents of our web site useful. My career interests are software development (Visual C++, Visual Basic, and Java), database design/management, and web applications. Thank you for your visit.
